THE UGANDA NATIONAL PARENTING GUIDELINES
The Uganda National Parenting Guidelines (MGLSD) serve as a national framework to standardize positive caregiving from early childhood through adolescence. They prioritize holistic development—combining health, nutrition, psychosocial support, and early education—while firmly banning corporal punishment and child neglect. The guidelines promote non-violent discipline, active involvement of fathers, and support for vulnerable caregivers and children with special needs. Ultimately, community facilitators and local leaders use them to educate parents and create safe, nurturing home environments.
